Schedule

Friday, November 21st

1:00 - 7:00 pm Seller unloading. Buyers and Sellers may pickup registration packets in the Brown Hall (Conference Center, Upper Level). Sellers only will be allowed in the White Hall (East Pavilion) on Friday. No trading. 3 tables or more may setup, cover required; 2 tables or less, closed box rule. Sellers must leave the hall as soon as set up.

6:30 pm - midnight The 'John King' Memorial Welcoming Cocktail Party at the Pasadena Masonic Temple. Please join us for warm fellowship where you can greet old friends and find out what trains are coming to the meet. There will be a full buffet dinner, a silent auction, entertainment and a no host bar. Adults only. You must have a registration badge to attend. This event will be held at the Masonic Hall located across the street from the Pasadena Convention Center at 200 South Euclid Ave. (corner of Euclid and Cordova), just a short walk from Cal-Stewart.

Saturday, November 22nd

7:30 am Registration at Brown Hall (Conference Center, Upper Level). Unloading at designated area. No trading. 3 tables or more may setup, cover required; 2 tables or less, closed box rule. Sellers, except disabled persons, must leave the White hall as soon as set up.
8:45 am Clear White hall to prepare for opening of trading
9:00 am - 5:00 pm Trading in White Hall
9:00 am - 5:00 pm Special Display - "Streamliners" featuring toy articulated streamliner model trains from the 1930's
9:00 am - 5:00 pm Sign-up for Sunday’s Train Races & Demolition Derby. Test & tweek your entries (1:00-3:00 p.m.); Brown Hall (Conference Center, Lower Level) 1:00 - 5:00 pm Regular Saturday Daytime Auction in Brown Hall (Conference Center, Lower Level Theater) – 10% Buyers Premium
5:00 - 7:00 pm Saturday Night Premium Auction Preview in Brown Hall (Conference Center, Lower Level) 7:00 pm Inaugural 'Ed Maggiora' Premuim Auction featuring items from the Bob Berns collection in Brown Hall (Conference Center, Lower Level) – 10% Buyers Premium

Sunday, November 23rd

9:00 am - 4:00 pm Trading in the White Hall. No early set-up
9:00 am - 4:00 pm Special Display - "Streamliners" featuring toy articulated streamliner model trains from the 1930's
9:00 am - 12:30 pm Sign-Up at race track for train races and demolition derby. Contact Jon Pincus (818) 889-1005 for rules and details. In the Brown Hall (Conference Center, Lower Level).
1:00 pm - until done 'Steve Marinkovich' Memorial Train races and demolition derby, with separate classes for modified stock.
12:00 noon - 3:00 pm Regular Auction in Brown Hall, (Conference Center, Lower Level Theater) – 10% Buyers Premium
2:00 pm Grand 'Mervyn Lew' Memorial Raffle Drawing
4:00 - 5:00 pm Pack-Up / Clean-Up and leave
5:00 pm Hall closes

Location & Services

Location Cal-Stewart 2008 continues to be located at the East Pavilion (White Hall) and the Conference Center (Brown Hall) buildings (two separate halls) while a new larger Exhibition Building is being built for Cal-Stewart 2009 at the Pasadena Convention Center.

Freeway Access to the Pasadena Convention Center is most convenient from the 210 freeway, which connects with most of the major freeways in the area. West Bound use the Fair Oaks (North)/Marengo offramp and go south on Marengo Ave. East Bound use Fair Oaks/Marengo offramp. Continue east on freeway access road (Corson) two blocks to Marengo and turn right. Turn left, east, on Green Street (one-way east bound). Turn right on Euclid Avenue to the Conference Center and East Pavilion. Sellers should proceed to the unloading area

Parking under the Sheraton Pasadena Hotel is provided for hotel guests and Cal-Stewart attendees for a fee, with in-and-out privileges for Hotel guests only. Permanent parking is not allowed in the Exhibition Hall unloading area. Call (626)395-7130 for 24hr parking information. Two Parking Structures are near to the Convention Center east and west ends.

Food is available at the Sheraton Pasadena Hotel, which has a coffee shop in the hotel. A snack bar with sandwiches and beverages will be open in the convention hall. There are many additional restaurants in Old Town and across Green street at the Paseo Colorado. A restaurant guide will be available at the registration desk.

Public Admittance: The public (non-registered attendees) will have free access to the Brown Hall only (Conference Center, Lower Level) on both Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until closing. The Brown Hall will be the location for “The Wonderful World of Trains” and will be configured for manufacturer’s displays, operating layouts, the 'Ralph Johnson Memorial Display' featuring early streamliners, all auctions, the train races and 'Demolition Derby', and the Boy Scouts Merit Badge Certification for Model Railroading and Collecting (Saturday only). Persons wishing to enter the White Hall, where all table sales will take place, either Saturday or Sunday, must pay full registration fees and wear a Cal-Stewart name badge.
